The Worst Movies of 2012

The Oscars Nominations were announced this morning (I will post on that tomorrow), so what better way to celebrate their greatness than with a list of the Top 10 Worst Movies of 2012!

2012 was a good year from some really great movies but it was also a year filled with some really bad movies! Narrowing down the list to only the Top 10 was difficult; but, I was able to do so! Without further delay....

10. 'One for The Money' - Katherine Heigl really needs to get better management, she just goes from one bad movie to the next; which is a real shame for this once promising TV actress trying to make it on the big screen. There is only one other promising actor that just seems to be making poor choices...

9. 'Playing For Keeps' & 'Chasing Mavericks' - And the tie goes to Gerard Butler with two of the more lame movies of the year.  I am still holding out hope the Butler can rise above the last few bombs he has selected and get back to some meatier roles.

8. 'House at the End of the Street' & 'The Devil Inside' & 'Paranormal Activity 4' - Once again, Hollywood proves my theory correct; you cannot make a good or even a decently scary PG-13 movie! All of these bombs that tied for the #8 spot were ill conceived, boring and downright stupid. For that matter, I could have addedd ALL of the PG-13 "horror" movies released in 2012!

7. 'Alex Cross' & 'Good Deeds' & 'Madea's Witness Protection' - I know! I know! But I didn't want the list dominated by Tyler Perry! I actually had high hopes for 'Alex Cross', but it was just further proof that Perry can't act and makes a pretty pudgy action hero. And for the love of God! Please stop dressing up as an old woman; the bit is done!

6. 'Gone' - The usually very likable and talented Amanda Seyfried was wasted in this poor excuse for a thriller. Boring with no attention paid to details, 'Gone' was gone from the theaters quickly, not quick enough!

5. 'The Watch' - With a stellar comedic cast, this should have been hit! Instead we were treated to a very uneasy mix of SciFi and gross out humor, with too much emphasis paid to the toilet jokes. What a waste of good talent.

4. 'Taken 2' - Did they really write into the script that a woman should start tossing hand grenades from the roof so that her father can follow the sound?

3. 'Battleship' - Should have sunk this before it even hit the theaters!

2. 'A Thousands Words' - I have a GREAT idea! Let's write a movie for Eddie Murphy and within the first 10 minutes remove his voice as the plot! Really? Please Eddie, go back to you 1980's roots and start making good, snappy dialogue filled movies!

1. 'That's My Boy' - Please, someone make Adam Sandler stop! He once showed such maturity and potential with some of his movies; but lately he just recycles the same dredge over and over! Because his legion of fans will pay anything just to see him make fart jokes in a stupid voice, he will keep producing this crap! I beg you all, stop!!!

No doubt there are some that will disagree with my list and I left more than a few (Piranha 3D, What to Expect When You Are Expecting, Red Dawn and a few more) off simply because I could have made a Top 50! I think, for every good movie that was made this past year, two or three bombs were released!

Tomorrow - my posting on the 2012 Oscar Nominations and news about the 'Beat Bob's Picks 2012' Contest!
